Mel B Will Not Be Prosecuted for Witness Tampering, Evidence is “Too Vague”

Mel B

As the legal battle continues between Mel B and Stephen Belafonte, the singer and television personality has been cleared of her own alleged wrongdoing.

Earlier this month TMZ reported that Mel B was under criminal investigation for witness tampering.  Rapper Siya, who was on Belafonte’s witness list in the former couple’s divorce and domestic violence case, claimed Mel B sent threatening text to keep the rapper from testifying against her, prompting officials to launch an investigation into the matter.

Since then, the publication reports that the L.A. County D.A. will not move forward with charges because the text messages in question were “too vague.” Apparently, officials were unable to clearly interpret the messages as threats and it remains unclear if Mel was even aware #Siya was set to testify against her.

Now, Mel B has one less thing to worry about in this longstanding legal battle.
