Let’s be clear—ain’t no party like a Diddy party, and anyone who was around in the ‘90s knows Bad Boy Records was the heartbeat of that era. Founded by Sean “Diddy” Combs, the label dominated the charts and Diddy was just as famous for throwing some of the most iconic parties ever. But recently, there’s been chatter, largely fueled by media speculation, linking his parties to alleged “freak-offs.” And it seems like every celeb who attended one of Diddy’s legendary bashes is getting roped into the rumors.
Melyssa Ford, the original “It Girl” of the ‘90s, sat down with Carlos King and addressed the elephant in the room. During the interview, King asked Ford the question that many have been wondering: had she ever been to one of Diddy’s so-called “freak-offs”?
Ford wasted no time shutting it down. “No. I’ve been at Diddy’s parties. It’s not the same thing,” she responded firmly. She made it clear that Diddy’s parties were about good vibes and star-studded guest lists, not the wild, unconfirmed rumors making headlines.
Carlos King pressed her further, asking what really went down at those events. Melyssa described the energy of the parties but was quick to point out that nothing shady was happening. “A lot of very famous people” were in attendance, she said, but there were no “compromising positions” or scandalous behavior. “Diddy’s parties were world-renowned. Everybody knew about them. They were incredible,” she emphasized.
Ford shared a story about the last Diddy party she attended, which took place around 2017, and was attended by the likes of Mary J. Blige, Quincy Jones, and other A-list celebrities. She recalled that it was just a regular party, probably timed around the BET Awards or the Grammys. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to attend any more of Diddy’s events after her car accident in 2018.
While the rumor mill keeps spinning, Melyssa Ford’s firsthand account should put some of these stories to rest. The bottom line? Diddy’s parties were the place to be, but the wild “freak-off” tales are way off-base.
If you weren’t there, don’t believe the hype!
