A memorial service for Colin L. Powell will be held on November 5 at Washington National Cathedral.
Powell, the retired Army General and former Secretary of State passed away on Monday from complications from COVID–19 at age 84.
Powell was fully vaccinated, but his family confirmed his immune system had been compromised by multiple myeloma, a blood cancer for which he had been undergoing treatment.
“There will be very limited seating and it will be by invitation only,” Peggy Cifrino, the Powell family spokesperson, said in a statement.
