Memphis Cookie Shop Where Young Dolph Was Fatally Shot Releases Statement

Young Dolph loved Makeda’s Cookies.

The South Memphis bakery was a favorite of the rapper, who frequently visited and ultimately where he was gunned down and killed.

Thursday, the shop released a statement about the rapper’s untimely death.

“Because of this senseless tragedy, Makeda’s Cookies has decided to close today,” the owners wrote in a post on their Facebook page. “We are heartbroken and saddened by the passing of Young Dolph. He was a regular customer and loved Makeda’s Cookies. Our hearts and condolences goes out to his family.”

The shop was damaged in the hail of gunfire that killed the 36-year-old rapper and entrepreneur. Fans gathered at the shop to mourn the immense loss of their hometown hero.
