On March 26th, Memphis Police Department officers responded to an incident on Cabana Circle where the tow truck driver, later identified as the victim, was transported to a local hospital with non-critical injuries. Authorities said the driver was attempting to repossess a 2011 Ford Fusion when a woman shouted at a man to “hurry up” as he was still “hooking his truck up to the vehicle.” The suspect then “backed the car up, running over the victim as he was under the vehicle.”
Brandi Revels, 27, and Nicholas Wray, 34, were arrested and charged with aggravated assault in connection with the incident. A video shared on social media shows a suspect entering the vehicle as the tow truck driver tries to repossess it. In the footage, the driver backs up the car while the tow man’s head is behind the wheel, causing the victim to scream as he was run over. The video also captures the woman talking to the driver as he attempts to move the car.
While the Memphis Police Department did not confirm the release of any video footage, they did clarify that all information is available on their Facebook page. The tow truck driver reportedly suffered arm pain and head abrasions, which required him to be shaken to stay awake. Revels and Wray are set to appear in court on March 31st.
