Memphis Police Arrest Man Who Threatened To Kill Anyone Coming From Yo Gotti Concert

The Memphis Police Department has arrested a man they say threatened to kill everyone coming from the FedExForum.

Police confirmed the incident occurred on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 2:48 am, on the 200 block of South Main Street.

MPD said they responded to an armed mental consumer call, and when they arrived on the scene, they were met by the suspect, Elijah Hyman, and his girlfriend.

Authorities say Hyman appeared distraught because he and his girlfriend broke up, and because of this, he wanted to kill himself and everyone he saw coming out of an event being held at the FedEx Forum.

Hyman was bleeding from his right hand after being cut from a glass window inside of his apartment, Fox 13 Memphis reported.

Police also located several weapons inside Hyman’s apartment. He was detained, placed in cuffs, and taken for medical treatment and evaluation.

He has been charged with the Commission of the Act of Terrorism.
