Lil Nas X is in legal trouble after metal artist Dana Dentata accuses him of stealing her album promotion idea.

According to The Blast, Dana claims Nas X stole her “labor” concept to promote his ‘Montero’ album. The court documents state Nas X used “copyrighted material” that is “essentially identical to the ‘Pantychrist’ music video and used the work as its basis.”

Dentata sent a cease and desist letter to Nas X with hopes of reaching a settlement for both artists. However, Dentata is clearly that if that isn’t an option, she will be filing a lawsuit for copyright infringement.

“I demand that you immediately cease the use and distribution of all infringing works derived from the works. And all copies, including electronic copies, of same, that you deliver to me. If applicable, all unused, undistributed copies of same, or destroy such copies immediately. And that you desist from this or any other infringement of her rights in the future. It is inconceivable that you wish to jeopardize your artist’s public image. And reputation by your client falsely claiming he created this copyrighted content,” the letter states.

In September 2021, Lil Nas X shared his “Give Birth” video to promote his sophomore album “Montero.” The video reached over 15 million views on Youtube while Dentata’s gained 250,000 views.
