Metro Boomin is making it clear that his new mixtape, “A FUTURISTIC SUMMA,” is not for everyone.
The St. Louis producer used his Twitter account to address criticism surrounding the project, posting a series of messages that left no doubt about his stance.
His comments began with a sharp post that read, “A lot of y’all get no b***hes and it shows.” Soon after, he added, “IF YO HOMEBOY NEVER HAD TO HOLD YOU UP IN THE TEEN PARTY WHILE U WAS GETTING TWERKED ON THEN YOU MIGHT WANNA SIT THIS ONE OUT.”
Metro kept going, addressing listeners who may not have shared the same cultural moments: “IF YOU NEVER WENT OUT AND COMPETED WITH YA BOYS ON WHO WOULD GET THE MOST NUMBERS THEN YOU MIGHT WANNA SIT THIS ONE OUT.” Another post followed: “IF YOU NEVER HAD TO WRITE A NUMBER DOWN PERIOD THEN YOU MIGHT WANNA SIT THIS ONE OUT.”
He then turned to fans who may have discovered rap more recently: “IF YOU STARTED LISTENING TO RAP MUSIC IN 2017, THEN YOU MIGHT WANNA SIT THIS ONE OUT.”
His rant ended with a final message about fashion during that era: “IF YOU NEVER INTENTIONALLY WORE YOUR CLOTHES WITH THE TAGS STILL ON THEN YOU MIGHT WANNA SIT THIS ONE OUT.”
Metro’s statements suggest that some of the criticism is coming from listeners who are too young to fully connect with the project.
From the beginning, his vision for “A FUTURISTIC SUMMA” was to bring back the sound and energy of early 2000s trap music. The mixtape reflects that era through its production style, club-ready beats, and carefully chosen features.
