North Carolina native, #DaBaby, is being sued by a Miami concert promoter he allegedly beat up and robbed preceding a scheduled performance for the artist by the promoter.
At first, it was reported that the concert promoter, Kenneth Carey, paid Da Baby $30K but, when Da Baby counted it, it was $10,000 short. Da Baby approached Carey regarding the missing funds, asking him to pay the difference, and when Carey declined, an argument broke out and erupted into a physical altercation.
Now TMZ reports, the promoter claims to have agreed only to pay Da Baby $20K. He also claims that when Da Baby and his team arrived in Miami, he arranged lodging and cars for the celebrity. He also alleges that one of the rental cars given to the star were damaged, and Da Baby demanded to be paid an extra $10K to repair the damages to the car. When he declined, that’s when he was battered and robbed for his cell phone, money and credit cards by Da Baby and his entourage, who also never showed up for the event.
The 28-year-old, “Suge” performer, was arrested on battery charges before he bonded himself out on $1,500 bail earlier last month.
Carey and his legal team are still suing the rapper for battery, defamation, breach of contract and intentional infliction of emotional distress, just to name a few. They are seeking punitive damages of over $6 million.
