Billionaire Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross donated $200 million dollars to the University of Michigan. What makes this donation special is not that he is a Wolverines alum, but that the donation goes towards the Stephen M. Ross School of Business and the University of Michigan athletics respectively. According to ESPN, the athletic campus will be renamed the Stephen M. Ross Athletic Campus. This philanthropic donation has upset many Miami dolphins fans because the Dolphins and the state of Florida had a lengthy, bitter battle over public funding for the Sun Life stadium. The money could have went towards the stadium, but Ross is putting money into the future students and athletes of the University of Michigan. Money well spent.
