A Miami police officer is facing charges after assaulting the father of her child and the woman he was with at the Millennium Tour over the weekend.
Khadijha Hardemon, 27, was arrested Tuesday and is facing two misdemeanor charges of battery. She was released on bond later that same day.
According to the arrest report, Hardemon approached the father of her child at FTX Arena and “aggressively poked the rear of his neck with two fingers.” A fight broke out, and Hardemon reportedly punched the woman her baby daddy was with, causing her to fall on the floor.
The man told police that he and his child’s mother are not on good terms. They reportedly haven’t spoken since September.
Hardemon was arrested after police used surveillance footage to determine she was the aggressor. Miami Police Department spokesperson Kenia Fallat said that Hardemon was relieved of duty with pay pending an investigation.
“By the end of this case, you’ll find few things,” Commissioner Keon Hardemon said. “One, that she’s innocent of all charges and she’ll be not guilty — that family members who are police officers were behind this arrest — and her baby’s father is a woman beater.”
Commissioner Hardemon is Khadijha Hardemon’s attorney and uncle.
