Michael B. Jordan may be your new Superman.
According to Deadline, DC Films is looking for a new #Superman and the company has their eyes on Jordan. #HenryCavill is reportedly leaving the DC team to move on to new ventures and that opens the opportunity to take a new direction with the former #ErikKillmonger.
However, DC says casting the “man of steel” is far “down the road,” as the next Superman film won’t be made for a couple of years. In addition, the company is looking closely at casting Superman’s female counterpart “Supergirl.” Cavill played the role of Superman three times in Warner Bros. and DC’s shared films, “Man of Steel” (2013), “Batman v. Superman” (2016), and “Justice League” (2017).
At the moment, Jordan is the only actor who is being considered. Since the rumor got out, fans have already created some art in celebration of the possible casting, Vibe reports. In addition to #RyanCoogler’s #BlackPanther, Jordan also played a superhero in 20th Century Fox’s reboot of Marvel’s Fantastic Four.
