Michael B. Jordan is gearing up to produce the adaptation of epic African fantasy novel, ‘Black Leopard, Red Wolf’ written by Marlon James.
James will also be an executive producer on the adaptation which will be the first release from the first-look partnership signed by Jordan’s Outlier Society Productions company and Warner Bros. last month.
The film is set in an illustrious African fantasy land, and tells the story of a slave trader hiring several mercenaries to find a kidnapped boy. ‘Black Leopard, Red Wolf’ has been described as an African ‘Game of Thrones’ and is the first book out of a trilogy that James will be writing.
So far, there is no word on who will be writing the film and no information on when production will begin.
Other upcoming projects from Jordan’s Outlier Society Productions include WWII action drama “The Liberators,” the sci-fi hour-long series, “Raising Dion,” and the #OWN drama series, “David Makes Man” from Oscar-winning “Moonlight” co-writer, Tarell Alvin McCraney.
