Who remembers quarantine life? Or who doesn’t? Our social lives were affected by it one way or another. Weekly happy hours were no longer, ‘girls night out’ became ‘girls night in’ and we all turned to “Club Quarantine” when our go-to spots shut down. What’s more, with “outside” being restricted, we all had to get creative especially for dates and romance.
In a recent episode of the ‘Jemele Hill is Unbothered Podcast,’ Michael B Jordan revealed how his extravagant Valentine’s Day surprise for girlfriend Lori Harvey came about.
The actor revealed that he rented out an aquarium for their date due to “a lot of pent-up romance.”
“I wasn’t able to do a lot of those things in the past,” said Jordan, seemingly referring to things having to be placed on pause due to the pandemic.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jordan had to think outside the box when planning the surprise for his girlfriend.
“Then you gotta be even more creative because there wasn’t a lot of things that were open. The circumstances of a lot of things forced me to be a bit of a thinker on that one,” he said.
He then admits he has to really think about how he will top this year’s plans next year.
“I kind of put myself in a tough situation because I have to figure out next year.”
On Instagram, Harvey shared a video of the tunnel adorned with flower petals and candles. She said, “My baby rented one the aquarium so we could do a private tour and see the turtles and then we walked into this.”
Harvey showed off the magnificent dinner spread in another video, including large bouquets of roses, more candles, and a meal from Nobu. Harvey also displayed a plush turtle, which symbolized Jordan’s nickname for her.
“And then there was this,” Harvey added as they ended their night in a hotel room with more large flower bouquets, candles, and red rose petals on the bed and around a bubble bath.
Since confirming their romance in January, the couple has been going strong. The couple recently shared posts on Instagram of a recent beach vacay.
