Michael Jordan To Present Kobe Bryant’s Enshrinement Into Basketball Hall of Fame

Michael Jordan is set to present Kobe Bryant’s enshrinement during the basketball 2020 Hall of Fame ceremony next month.

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame made the announcement on Thursday. Legendary Coach Phil Jackson led both Bryant and Jordan to all of their championships during their careers. Bryant has admitted to implementing techniques of Jordan’s career throughout his own.

“Damn near 100 percent of the technique,” Bryant said to Bleacher Report when asked if some of his moves were inspired by the Chicago Bulls legend. “Damn near 100 percent.”

The two NBA champs also maintained a solid relationship off of the court. The 58-year-old sneaker mogul gave an emotional speech during Bryant’s funeral, saying that the beloved athlete “wanted to be the best basketball player he could be.” As Jordan grew to know him, he “wanted to be the best big brother” that he could be.

Other inductees will include WNBA All-Star Tamika Catchings, NBA All-Stars Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett, and NCAA National Championship Coach of Baylor Kim Mulkey.

The ceremony for the 2020 class will take place on May 15th after being postponed last year during the coronavirus pandemic.
