The home of Michael Jordan was broken into this week, and the suspects happen to be teenagers.
On Tuesday, the basketball giant was the victim of a burglary at his massive Highland Park, Illinois estate. TMZ reports that officers responded to the home shortly after 4:00 p.m., though it’s unclear who initially called 911. When authorities with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded with their canines, they discovered 18-year-old Raiden Hagedorn inside the home. Another minor suspect was on the property, but their identity has not been released.
No items were stolen from the residence, though Hagedorn did break a window to get inside. He was arrested and charged with three misdemeanors of criminal trespass to an occupied residence and two counts of criminal property damage. The underage suspect was also taken into custody.
Jordan was not inside the property during the break-in. In fact, it has been years since he has lived at the mansion, according to several media outlets. Jordan placed it on the market in 2012, where it currently remains. Originally listed at $29 million, the price now stands at $14.85 million. Jordan built the house in 1995 while still married to his ex-wife Juanita Jordan. The lavish seven-acre property sports the 32,683-square-foot primary home, a guest house, a wine cellar, and an infinity pool.
Hagedorn has been released from jail and must appear in court on April 20th. Jordan has not publicly commented on the incident.
