Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote and MTV have announced the star-studded lineup for its highly anticipated virtual prom event.
DJ Khaled is set to join the party as the official “Prom Boss,” kicking the night off with performances by Chloe x Halle, DJ Pauly D, and more. The night will also include special appearances by Fat Joe, Janelle Monae, Tory Lanez, and more.
MTV’s Prom-athon, set to stream live on Friday, May 22, will begin with an all-day, on-air prom-themed takeover, complete with throwback films, including Bring It On, Clueless, and 17 Again, according to a press release. The special event will also highlight the winning schools and students of Obama’s 2020 Prom Challenge, who were dedicated to voter registration efforts in their communities. Youtube star DDG, along with AJ Mitchell, Mario, Laura Marano, and more, are also scheduled to join the virtual party.
Due to prom cancelations and school closures as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote joined forces with MTV to produce a virtual celebration for the Class of 2020, bringing students from across the country together.
