Jason Harris, the Davison ‘cereal murderer,’ was sentenced to life this past Friday after poisoning his wife’s cereal with heroin. He was convicted in November after the incident was originally ruled as an “accidental overdose” in 2014.
According to MLive, Genesee Circuit Court Judge David J. Newblatt agreed with the jury.
Newblatt told Harris, “I agree completely with their verdict…you are guilty. You did this. You are a murderer. You are a liar. I want to make that very clear. The jury saw through your lies and I see through your lies.”
Harris made comments in the past to his family about wanting to get “rid of Christina Harris.” He was also seeing other women before her sudden death. On the day of her death, Harris told investigators that his wife was coughing while napping and was not answering his calls or texts. He then asked neighbors to check on her. Once the neighbors found her she was cold to touch and unconscious.
He was found guilty of first-degree murder, solicitation of murder and delivery of a controlled substance causing death. Apparently, the neighbors told police that Harris had fixed his wife, Christina, a bowl of cereal on a late night after she said she was hungry. Soon after, she passed out on the ground after eating the cereal. She was never a drug user. Christina’s mother was with her a day before her death and said she was totally fine.
In 2019, investigators alleged it was a murder scheme planned by Harris and he was charged five years after her death.
