Policed issued a statement in the case of a Michigan teen who fatally shot himself during a Russian roulette game.
Back in October, the teen was found unresponsive in a house in Burton. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“After interviews and the collection of evidence, it was determined that some occupants of the house were playing Russian roulette. The victim suffered a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,” the Burton Police Department said in a statement posted to Facebook on Monday.
The police department gave the update due to the “large amount of public interest” the case has received.
According to the police’s statement, officers found several stolen items during a search of the house. They believe some of the occupants of the house committed several burglaries nearby. Some of the stolen have been returned to their owners.
“The detectives have submitted warrant packets to the prosecutor’s office for review on November 18, 2020,” the statement said.
The teen has not been identified, but according to MLive.com, he was a student at Bentley High School.
No other information has been made provided, and the case is still being investigated.
