The popular dance craze, the “dab” has officially been laid to rest.
According to TMZ, Quavo of Atlanta hip-hop trio Migos, agreed with Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, who declared the dab is dead earlier this week.
“You got to give everybody a new trend, a new wave or something new to do so I feel him on that,” Quavo said. “Everybody was copying it and now it’s time to switch lanes.”
The dance became popular over the past year with everyone joining the movement, from Rihanna, Beyoncé, local newscasters and even Hillary Clinton.
TMZ asked the trio if there was another dance ready to be released, however, Quavo declined to reveal if so.
“We ain’t gon tell you because we know yall gon’ take it, bit it and re-write it,” he said. “But, you know, we’ll come out with something new.”
In addition, Quavo mentioned that Migos would be open to creating something new with the controversial dabber himself, Cam Newton.
Migos and members of their QC and YRN movement are noted as the creators of the “dab,” with Cam Newton being the power that made the dance more mainstream.
