With the release of their highly-anticipated third album, ‘Culture II’, on the way, Georgia-based rap trio Migos is definitely at the top of the game right now.
The “Bad and Boujee” phenomenon recently sat down with Rolling Stone to talk all things ‘Culture’, the come up, and even Cardi B.
Set to debut on January 26th, Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff assures that ‘Culture II’ will be their best work yet.
“The beat, the bass is everything. It’s light, it’s fun, it’s lit,” Offset boasts when talking about the forthcoming project.
However, although ‘Culture II’ will extensively showcase the chart-topping group’s musical versatility, Takeoff says that listeners can definitely still expect “the original Migos sound”, but with a funky twist.
“It’s still trap,” he adds. “We got a little funkier. It’s not all the way funk. There’s still a Migos vibe.”
Since October, the guys have unleashed three singles from the album, “MotorSport”, featuring #NickiMinaj and Cardi B, “Stir Fry”, and “Supastars”, which just hit iTunes on January 22nd.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The project—which serves as a sequel to last year’s ‘Culture’, holds production from Pharrell and even collaborative efforts from Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, and Travis Scott. Kanye West is also said to be featured on a couple of songs, but only a select few will make the cut.
“He did more [songs],” Takeoff says. “We sitting on them right now, man.”
However, great music isn’t the only thing in the air amongst the three bandmates. Love is. Well, at least, for Offset. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The 26-year-old briefly spoke on his fiancée, Cardi B, and, despite the rumors, the duo still seems to be going strong as ever.
“She is real solid, came from where I came from, did what I did. She’s herself, man. I seen her develop from the trenches all the way up, and I like how she did it. I respect her grind as a woman,” Offset smiles. “I f*** with her. That’s my baby.”
As for the wedding plans, it doesn’t look like the couple will be tying the knot anytime soon. Instead, the two are taking their time. “We chilling. We don’t got time for that right now,” he says.
