An awkward and potentially deadly confrontation took place between Mike Tyson and an unstable fan.
The incident happened on Tuesday night inside of a Hollywood comedy club. Tyson was there enjoying the show with friends when a possibly drunk customer interrupted the set to challenge the boxing champ to a brawl. The man said he wanted to “elevate his status.” After harassing Tyson for some time, the host asked the patron to calm down and return to his seat. At one point, the host even tries to push the attendee towards the exit as he yells, “I don’t give a f**k! I’m joking.” That is when the encounter took a turn for the worse. The deranged man took out a gun and cocked it, causing instant panic.
As the room tensed up, the unidentified male appeared to regret his decision. He put his gun away and apologized to Tyson for his behavior.
“Hey, I love you, fam. Salute to all of your accomplishments, for real. If it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t have no inspiration. I love you, OG, for real. From the heart, for real,” the man told the world-renowned fighter.
He pleaded with the 55-year-old not to call the police. However, getting authorities involved was the last thing on Tyson’s mind as he listened to the fan empathetically. Again, the staff asked the patron to leave, but before he exited, Tyson shook his hand and hugged him. After the embrace, the patron left for good.
Police were not called to the comedy club, and the man has not been identified.
