The legal battle between Stefon Diggs and his former private chef, Mila Adams, reached a critical turning point this week.
On Friday, the New England Patriots wide receiver appeared in a Massachusetts courtroom to officially plead not guilty to charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery. While Diggs remained quiet, his legal team continues to push a narrative of innocence, suggesting the charges are merely a byproduct of a financial dispute.
However, Adams isn’t letting the “not guilty” plea or the rumors surrounding her motivations go unanswered. Following the hearing, Adams released a direct and emotional statement to address what she calls “false information” being spread about her involvement in the case.
“I am speaking now to address false information that has been shared publicly,” the statement reads. “I am a professional chef with over 10 years of experience working with public figures and in the sports industry, my reputation and integrity matter deeply to me. Claims that I engaged in settlement discussions are not true. I have never sought money nor engaged in settlement discussions to settle this matter. Statements suggesting otherwise are harmful and untrue.
“As a survivor of domestic violence, I take these matters extremely serious and would never make false claims for personal gain or to damage someone’s reputation,” Mila Adams’ statement continues. “I did not seek public attention and reported this matter through the proper legal channels. This is an active criminal matter, and I will continue to respect the legal process. I will not engage in rumors, personal attacks, or respond to misinformation on social media, and I ask others to refrain from spreading false narratives.
“My focus is on healing, my work, and moving forward with integrity,” the statement concludes. “I trust the legal process to address the facts, and I hope anyone following this matter will do the same.”
The incident in question dates back to December 2, 2025, when Adams alleges that a disagreement over unpaid wages at Diggs’ home escalated into violence.
According to court documents, she claims Diggs struck her across the face and attempted to choke her. While Diggs’ attorney, Mitchell Schuster, insists the athlete is “completely innocent” and will be “exonerated,” the court has ordered Diggs to have no contact with Adams.
With a pre-trial hearing now locked in for April 1, this case is far from over, and the public back-and-forth between the two sides suggests a very turbulent road ahead.
