A millionaire dentist has been found guilty of murdering his wife and cashing in on millions in life insurance payments.
Six years ago, Lawrence “Larry” Rudolph, 67, took his wife, Bianca Rudolph, of 34 years, on an African hunting safari trip. The incident took place on Oct. 11, 2016, in Zambia. Rudolph, already a wealthy dentist, fatally shot his wife on the hunting trip and then claimed in a Denver court that she accidentally shot herself in the chest while packing a shotgun.
The thing is, prosecutors were already skeptical that the fatal wound wasn’t self-inflicted due to evidence showing the shot happened at least two to three-and-a-half feet away from where she was standing, The New York Post reports. In addition, prosecutors believed Rudolph shot his wife as part of a way to collect $5 million in life insurance payments that he could use to get it poppin’ with his side piece of 20 years.
But, Rudolph wasn’t able to keep his evil deed hidden for long. One night, while he was with his side chick – Lori Milliron – out for dinner, he was overheard yelling, “I killed my f***ing wife for you!”
After a three-week trial, Rudolph was found guilty of murdering his wife. He was also convicted of mail fraud. His lawyers claimed he had no reason to kill his wife, saying they had an open marriage for years and that he didn’t need the money because he had plenty of it. He was worth $15 million at the time.
Milliron was found guilty of being an accessory to murder, The New York Post reports.
