Verne Troyer’s death has been ruled a suicide, according to a Los Angeles coroner.
The actor best known for his role in the Austin Powers series as Mini-Me died in April at 49 years old.
Troyer, who was 2ft 8in (81cm) tall, also played the role of Griphook in ”Harry Potter: The Sorcerer’s Stone,” and appeared on ”Celebrity Big Brother UK.”
The results of an autopsy proved Troyer died of alcohol poisoning, making his death a suicide.
Troyer was open about his struggle with alcoholism and was treated for alcohol abuse last year.
He posted a Facebook message to fans writing, “while it’s not always been an easy fight, I’m willing to continue my fight day by day.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Troyer was initially rushed to the hospital after a friend called emergency services claiming he was upset, drunk, and suicidal. Once admitted, he spent a few weeks on life support before alcoholism eventually took his life.
We keep his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.
