Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson has been indicted by a Montgomery County, Texas, grand jury on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child. Adrien Peterson is being accused of alleged child abuse against his 4-year-old son after beating him with a switch.
As far as this case, Peterson has been cooperating with the Montgomery County Sheriff up until now and initially had not been arrested after admitting to whooping the child. As soon as the news became public, ESPN announced that an arrest warrant had been issued for Peterson. At this time he has not been arrested but the Vikings have deactivated Peterson for Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots.
In an unrelated tale last October Peterson’s 2-year-old son died in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, after being assaulted by boyfriend the boy’s mother. Peterson learned only two months prior that he was the boy’s father. Joseph Robert Patterson, was charged with murder and manslaughter of Peterson’s son.
In an interview last month with ESPN Peterson stated “It’s just made me stop taking things for granted, Life is short. You never know. You just want to take advantage of the time you do have.”
The indictment is surprising because Peterson was not in South Dakota, when the incident even happened. I hope he was not involved in anyway. I am a huge AP fan, his work ethic is off the charts.
Obviously, more facts will come out at a later dates. Stay Tuned.
