Minor league baseball player Jesus Camargo Corrales was arrested in Colorado on Wednesday after 21 pounds of meth and more than a pound of Oxycodone pills were discovered in his bags.
According to the New York Post, police pulled over Camargo after seeing him speed and drift between lanes on an interstate.
According to the publication, Corrales’ silver BMW was immediately searched, and the K-9 unit discovered a duffle bag containing the drugs, several baseball gloves, cleats, and $1,000 in cash.
The 25-year-old Mexico native faces four felony drug counts for possession and distribution.
Two other individuals were in the car at the time of the search. However, they are facing no charges.
Camargo is still being held in jail under a $75,000 bond, according to Bleacher Report.
“We are aware of the arrest of one of our minor league players,” said Julian Green, the Cubs’ senior vice president of communications. “We are investigating this matter and cannot provide additional comment until we have further details.”
