Miss Kentucky Elle Smith was named Miss USA 2021 at last night’s pageant.
Smith won first place in the competition, which took place at the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The University of Kentucky graduate will now compete in the Miss Universe competition on December 12 in Eilat, Israel.
Smith was congratulated on Twitter by the University of Kentucky, where she studied journalism.
She also is a reporter for WHAS11 News.
