The Miss USA pageant is taking mental health more seriously following the death of 2019 Miss USA champion, Cheslie Kryst.
According to TMZ, the pageant president Crystle Stewart says the contestants will have access to mental health workshops. The workshops will pair the contestants with psychiatrists and mental health experts.
Crystle created her own foundation to help prepare the women on stage. She says the foundation will also teach them coping skills for when they feel anxious and show them how to dismiss depression if they don’t win.
