Miss Zimbabwe Loses Her Title For Posing Nude

Miss Zimbabwe, Emily Kachote, has had her title stripped for her after her nude photos leaked last month. This makes the second year in a row that the country’s pageant queen has lost their title. 

Reports say that Kachote was stripped of her title because she violated an agreement in which contestants swear they have never posed naked, nor will they ever should they win. The organization wrote in a statement, “Being in a relationship, sexual advances to anyone and any behavior categorized as immoral by the Miss Zimbabwe Trust is grounds for instant disqualification and dethronement.”

Emily Kachote, a psychology graduate who currently works as a financial advisor, admits that the photos are of her and were leaked by an ex. The board said Kachote will be replaced by runner-up Grace Mutambu, who will represent Zimbabwe at the Miss World pageant in Sanya, China in December. Last year’s Miss Zimbabwe, Thabiso Phiri, was also caught up in a nude photo scandal. 

Emily Kachote hasn’t had it easy as Miss Zimbabwe. Besides being dethroned, when she won the titled, a number Zimbabweans complained that she was “ugly”. Many rallied behind her, however. How disappointing that her ex ruined her time to shine.
