The body of a swimmer who jumped off a pontoon boat into Lake Lanier and did not resurface has been recovered. Game wardens with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources were called out to the lake after 12 p.m. The lake is located just outside Gainesville.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the body of Anthony Saintil, 23, was located by divers around 1 p.m. Sunday. Officials searched for Saintil into the night on Saturday. The search was suspended and resumed at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
Using sonar scanners, divers located the missing swimmer’s body near the mouth of Balus Creek.Â
