So in case anyone had forgotten about Little League Baseball star Mo’ne Davis, the 13-year old who led her Philadelphia team to the little league World Series and made history as the first girl to pitch a shutout, here’s yet another reminder of just who Mo’ne is… she’s now the focus of a brand new Disney Channel movie entitled “Throw Like Mo.”
Since setting ESPN ratings records for the most viewers of a little league World Series ever, Mo’ne Davis has become an author of her very own 200+ page biography, a designer of her own sneaker line for young girls, the very first little leaguer to grace the covers of Sports Illustrated, and now she can add Disney to her repertoire.
When asked about the biopic produced by Emmy nominated Debra Martin Chase, Mo’ne had this to say: “A year ago, I never would have thought that Disney Channel would make a movie about me,” she said. “I can’t wait to get started, and I hope it will encourage other viewers to believe that dreams really do come true.” Congratulations are definitely in order and I don’t know about you guys but I look forward to seeing a lot more of Mo’ne!
