Oscar winner and comedian Mo’Nique has announced her new comedy special for Netflix.

The comedian shared the news in a video message posted on Twitter on Tuesday, saying, “I’m excited to say that I’ll be shooting my first Netflix special, in addition to reuniting with my friend, director Lee Daniels on the Netflix film ‘The Deliverance.’”

“You won’t want to miss either of them, so stay tuned,” she added. “Thank you all and I love y’all to life!”

The film, which has yet to be titled, is scheduled to film later this year in Atlanta, with more details about the film will be given in the next coming months.

News that the “Queens of Comedy” star is bringing her humor back to Netflix marks a happy resolution to what was a years-long standoff between the star and the streamer.

Last month, Mo’Nique, whose legal name is Monique Hicks, reportedly settled her lawsuit alleging race and sex discrimination against Netflix. In the 2019 filing, she accused the streamer of breaking the law when it gave her a “lowball” offer for a comedy special in 2018.

According to Mo’Nique, she was offered only $500,000 for a special, compared to Amy Schumer’s $11 million offer. She also cited Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock’s $20 million apiece offer, NBC News reported.

Terms of the settlement have yet to be disclosed, but evidently, both sides were content with the outcome and have even ventured into a new business agreement.

Mo’Nique has also mended her conflict with Daniels, who directed her to a best-supporting actress Oscar in 2009’s “Precious.”

It has been almost 13 years since the two started feuding, thankfully, the director and star have reconciled and reunited for Daniels’ upcoming thriller “The Deliverance.”
