Mo’Nique and her oldest son, Shalon Jackson, are embroiled in a social media battle, and now, Mo has shared some text messages between the two.
In many of the messages dating back to 2020, the mother and son appear to have normal discourse. In one message dated December 5th, 2020, Mo writes, “Hey baby just checking on you,” though she does not get a response. She then followed up with an identical message on December 23rd, 2020. Jackson seemed to respond on January 15, 2021, and the two had a quick back and forth about autocorrect calling writing “Man” instead of “Ma” when he attempted to say hello to his mother. As the conversation goes smoothly, one in particular message from Mo’s husband, Sidney Hicks, shows cracks in the relationship.
In that message, Hicks slammed Jackson for being “immature” and not allowing the couple to see his daughter. This is a point of interest because when Jackson addressed his strained relationship with Mo’Nique, he claimed she did not try to have a relationship with his child. Hicks also called out Jackson for needing his help with obtaining a car.
These screenshots are another piece of the messy saga between Mo and Jackson. Things heated up when she admitted on “Club Shay Shay” that she and Jackson had been separated for a while. Part of this had to do with the “Queens of Comedy” star chasing her career for much of Jackson’s young life. In his video, he said that his famous mom was more interested in superstardom than she was in motherhood. Mo’Nique and Hicks went live on Instagram after Jackson went viral, alluding to him having mental health issues and highlighting the financial support they’ve given him.
Needless to say, the family feud has been ongoing for quite some time, and unfortunately, it is now playing out in the public.
