Mo’Nique will not let up on Tyler Perry anytime soon.

During a livestream with fellow comedian Red Grant, she went off on the filmmaker, once again accusing him of hypocrisy and mistreatment.
“I’m not difficult to work with. I’m just not going to put up with no foolishness. And it’s not that I’m not going to, I’m not going to let you treat anybody else bad that we’re playing with. So I think that the misconception became, and the misconception came from Tyler Perry,” she explained.
Mo’Nique has long claimed that Perry played a key role in blackballing her from the entertainment industry by labeling her “difficult to work with.” She alleges this perception began after she refused to do unpaid promotional work for “Precious,” the 2009 film Perry co-produced alongside Oprah Winfrey and Lee Daniels. The fallout from that decision, according to Mo’Nique, led to her being ostracized in Hollywood.
During her conversation with Grant, she doubled down on her criticism of Perry, calling him a hypocrite and referencing his recent speech at Angie Stone’s funeral, where he called for fair treatment of Black women in the entertainment industry.
“Angie Stone was a fighter, baby. And to watch that man up there be hypocritical over top of my sister—no, sir, you cannot do that. Because if it was the other way around, I know my sister would have done the same damn thing,” she stated.
She then took a sharp jab at Perry, drawing a distinction between him and his famous alter ego, Madea.
“Madea is a far better human being than Tyler Perry. Madea is a far better human being because of the principles and the values that she stands on. Once he goes back to Tyler Perry, he drops it off.”
As of now, Perry has yet to respond to Mo’Nique’s latest remarks.
