The bodies of a mother and her 10-month old twins were pulled from a pond Friday evening.
According to local news, ShaQuia Philpot and her twin sons, Cassius and Caysen Williams, were found in a submerged car beneath the surface of Mayor’s Pond in Augusta.
The three were pronounced dead Friday night.
The bodies were discovered after a fisherman noticed the car and called the police. Now, an investigation has been launched to determine how the mother and sons ended up in the pond.
At this time, it remains unclear if the incident was an accident. Autopsies will be completed this week.
