Last year, Dominic Allen, 19, went missing in September. Authorities are now accusing his mother of killing him and hiding his body in a bedroom inside their Cincinnati apartment.
Hamilton County authorities say Kenya Stallworth, 39, killed her teenage son and hid his remains under clothes to masks the smell of his decomposing corpse.
On Tuesday, a grand jury indicted the mother on one count of murder and one count of felonious assault in connection to the crime, PEOPLE reported.
The teenager was reported missing in September. His father, Marcus Allen, said a friend of his son told him he hadn’t seen Dominic since September 24, Fox19 News reported.
The mother allegedly “waited ten days to file a police report.”
The father told WCPO that “She stated that she wasn’t going to file a report because she thought I was going to do it.”
A month later, authorities asked the public to help locate the “missing” teen.
“He loved helping everybody,” his father said. “he was a wonderful child. He was a happy child.”
“I am proud to be his father,” he added.
In December, authorities found the 19-year-old’s remains in the apartment located on Fenton Avenue, the home of Stallworth and her boyfriend, Robert Robb, 35.
Authorities have not said how he was killed, but his father believes he was tortured.
“The first thing that came to my mind was, ‘What was going through your head when you all did whatever you all did?'” Allen told Fox19. “What happened for all of this to take place like this to the point where you all not only hide him under a pile of dirty clothes, you all sealed him in his bedroom?'”
Robb is also accused of aiding in the crime by helping Stallworth hide the body.
Both were arrested and charged with the abuse of a corpse in December.
“My whole world has changed. I’m hurt,” Allen told WCPO, describing his son as “my twin, my oldest boy. That’s my daughter’s best friend. I really can’t explain how I feel. I’m angry.”
