Mother of Missing 5-year-old Stops Cooperating With The Police

The search for missing 5-year-old Taylor Williams heats up after mother discontinued her cooperation with the police.

According to CBS News, an amber alert for the little girl was issued after she was reported missing in Jacksonville, Florida this last Wednesday, [Nov. 6].

Taylor’s mother Brianna Williams reportedly stated after she woke up Wednesday morning, her daughter was gone. Investigators reportedly said that Taylor has been missing for weeks and there were contradictions in her mother’s story. Brianna also said the back door was open and Taylor was gone. However, law enforcement doesn’t believe the young girl walked away from the home.

Sheriff Mike Williams who is currently working with investigators said, “We know that Brianna Williams was the last person to see Taylor, and we need for her to cooperate. We were talking to her about some inconsistencies in her statement and that’s when she chose to stop cooperating with us.”

Brianna Williams at first was working with the police, but now she no longer wants to cooperate, Sheriff Mike Williams said.

A search team gathered to knock on over 600 doors in an effort to find Taylor. They also looked in dumpsters and by the lake nearby. Volunteers reportedly said they won’t give up until they find out what happened to the little girl.

This past weekend, Taylor’s family moved out of their apartment complex. “The whole 45 minutes we were there, loading things up I never once saw a child,” alleged Tiffani Nicole, who helped them move out.

“It is strange because I didn’t even know she had a little girl,” neighbor Moses Young reportedly stated.

Law enforcement is asking if anyone in that area has seen Taylor with her mother in the past six months to call the police immediately. “We remain hopeful that we will find Taylor. We’re not going to stop in our efforts to locate her,” Sheriff Williams said.

Brittany Williams is reported to be a petty officer with the US Navy, stationed in Jacksonville. Her family is allegedly from Alabama. The Sheriff’s office in Jacksonville is working with investigators there. Crime stoppers in Florida are offering a reward for anyone that may know where Taylor is.
