The New York Police Department [NYPD] released surveillance footage of an attempted kidnapping in Queens, New York.
The incident reportedly occurred around 8 p.m. on the corner of Hillside and Myrtle Avenue.
The footage shows a boy walking ahead of his mother and brothers, then seconds later, he was grabbed by a man and thrown into the backseat of the vehicle. The man who grabbed the young boy ran from a maroon sedan moments before the attempted kidnapping and looked to be in his 30’s. There was an older in his 50’s or 60’s man seated on the passenger side.
The quick-thinking mother pulled her son out of the back window to safety with the help of her other two children before the car sped off. The men reportedly headed southbound on Hillside Avenue. They then went westbound on Jamaica Avenue, according to the NYPD.
“I didn’t see their faces,” the boy’s mother, Diaz Lopez, reportedly told a local news station. “The people, no talking, nothing, only take my kid and put him in the car.”
Luckily the child was unharmed after this serious incident occurred.
