Last week, Glorilla’s makeup look became a hot topic on social media. The face beat, created by Atlanta-based makeup artist Angelica White, quickly went viral online, sparking mixed reactions among users.
On October 16th, White posted a video on Instagram showing the process of her doing Glo’s makeup. The transformation included a natural glam look and featured clips of Glo’s bare face, racking in negative and positive comments. Despite many fans loving the look, others weren’t so kind, mocking Glo’s features.
As a result, Glo addressed the clip during an Instagram Live session, claiming that the problem wasn’t her face but the makeup itself.
“Why are you proud of this?” Glo indirectly asked White. “Take it down.”
White caught wind of Glo’s remarks and decided to speak on the ordeal. She began her statement by saying that she was hurt by hearing what Glo had to say about the beat, especially since she allegedly told the rapper that she was “an up-and-coming makeup artist.” White went on to explain that she was initially excited to do Glo’s makeup and even left school early to make the appointment.
“I’m in shock to even have heard her say that, like ‘Why am I proud? Why is she proud of that?’ Be for real, you was my first celebrity client; anybody would have been proud. I’m sure when you got signed, you was proud too,” White said. “You had time to perfect your craft just like me.”
Additionally, White highlighted that she was confused by Glo’s statement since she allegedly booked her for services on other occasions. She also stated that the rapper’s friends and others complimented the look.
“As you can hear in the video, her friend said it looked nice, and so have other comments,” White added. “So, for her to drag me is just insane. Just for her to still call me back to do her makeup…And honestly, if it was that ugly, I don’t understand why you would allow me to do your makeup two more times after that. Every time I worked with her, she always had a different stylist…so if you just genuinely didn’t like the makeup, you could have got a new makeup artist.”
Glorilla hasn’t addressed White’s video yet, but needless to say, more people were pleased with the makeup than those who were not.
