After the backlash from his viral list of studio requirements, Mustard has released a revised set of rules for anyone coming to work with him.
The original list kicked off with rule number one being “DO NOT COME IN HERE IF YOU’RE F—–G UGLY.” This angered social media users who debated whether or not the critically acclaimed producer had any room to discuss looks. However, the music maven stood by his stance that no uglies were allowed in his workspace but decided to drop the “f-word” from the No. 1 rule to soften the blow.

Rule No. 2 from the original list also sparked a bit of fan outrage for banning anyone who didn’t attend the gym prior to arriving. While the new list made no revisions to this rule, the “Perfect Ten” creator placed a disclaimer underneath it, explaining that it was only put there to motivate people to get fit. Mustard has been open about his weight-loss journey, dropping an impressive 100 pounds by adopting a healthier lifestyle, and wants others to do the same.
Rule No. 5 was the other controversial part of the list that stated, “BE HAPPY TO EVEN BREATHE THE SAME AIR AS A GRAMMY AWARD WINNING, 100 MILLION RECORD SELLING N—A LIKE ME.” Fans felt that the 31-year-old was being unnecessarily arrogant, which he addressed in the updated rules.
“When entering my space, the expectation is that you share the same mindset that I do-learn and progress. Remember: the wisest man knows he knows nothing,” he wrote.
While most followers recognized that the list was meant to be a joke, many did not find it funny. On Tuesday, Mustard took to his Instagram to post a photo of rapper Vince Staples in the studio with him that featured the words, “All jokes aside it’s all love none of this internet shit is real guys relax. See y’all later.”
Be it “fake outrage” or authentic backlash, hopefully, Mustard’s revisions can finally put the scandal to rest.
