It was established during the court hearing that the unidentified woman and Mystikal share a child.
Lead attorney Joel Pearce also revealed that his team had hired the digital forensics company Garrett Discovery to clear his client’s name.
Pearce said that cell phone and social media records include “the most important data” related to this case.
“Mystikal has been charged with serious crimes, and our experts will be analyzing the digital evidence to inform counsel and the client as the facts in the case,” said the firm’s CEO Andrew Garrett. “Law enforcement and prosecutors have the ability to search homes, arrest, and jail those whom they feel are guilty.”
“This comes with a great responsibility,” he continued, “but unfortunately, with high caseloads and mounting pressure, we often see cases that are not well developed or have come to the wrong conclusion. Attorney Pierce’s relentless pursuit of the truth will leave no stone unturned.”
Mystikal is accused of felony rape and a list of other felonies and misdemeanors, including strangling, domestic violence, robbery, false imprisonment, and criminal damage to property under $1,000.
His arrest led to additional charges of illegal Xanax possession, heroin possession, methamphetamine possession, marijuana possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Rapper could spend life in prison if found guilty.
