Nancy Pelosi has referred to Donald Trump as “unhinged” and questions what prevents him from accessing nuclear launch codes.
The House Speaker made the revelation to fellow House members on Friday, telling them that she contacted Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley to ensure that Trump could not create further chaos after inciting the Capitol’s riots earlier this week.
“This morning, I spoke to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike,” she wrote in a letter to House Democrats.
Pelosi called for the vice president and Cabinet to immediately remove Trump from office for his role in the Wednesday attacks, which left five dead, including one Capitol police officer. Other Democrats and a few Republicans have also called for Trump’s removal under the 25th Amendment.
