Federal prosecutors claim NBA YoungBoy violated house arrest terms by using drugs and telling his supervising officers he has “ no intentions” to stop.

On Thursday, prosecutors asked a Louisiana federal judge to address the rapper’s “noncompliant behavior” as he awaits a July trial on federal gun charges.

According to Billboard, he violated the terms by “using or unlawfully possessing a narcotic drug or other controlled substance” while under house arrest.

U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr. wrote in the filing that, “The undersigned has learned that the defendant has violated [this rule] and has informed his supervising officer that he has no intentions to discontinue using the substance that resulted in the violation.”

The specific drug or drugs mentioned by prosecutors remains unclear. However, the rapper recently raised concerns by posting a staged photo surrounded by pills.

He’s charged with possessing firearms as a convicted felon and having an unregistered firearm. His legal team filed to dismiss the federal gun charges, arguing they violate his Second Amendment rights.

YoungBoy has been confined to his Salt Lake City mansion for over two years, and in October, his attorneys expressed concern about the negative effects of prolonged social isolation on his mental health.

Despite requesting fewer restrictions, including travel to a recording studio, their plea was mostly denied in November.
