NBA YoungBoy just pleaded guilty to two federal gun charges—one linked to his 2020 arrest in Louisiana and another from a Utah raid earlier this year.
Prosecutors across both cases reached a deal, and the rapper was sentenced to 23 months in prison on the spot.
With time served since at least May, plus the seven months he already spent locked up on the Louisiana charge, YoungBoy could be out earlier with the potential to be in a halfway house next year.
The Utah raid that led to his most recent charge uncovered a semi-automatic pistol in his bedroom and evidence tying him to what prosecutors say was a massive prescription drug fraud ring. Without the plea deal, YoungBoy was staring down potential sentences of up to 25 years combined for the two cases.
This deal isn’t exactly light, but it’s a big step back from the max penalties the rapper could’ve faced.
