According to the Los Angeles Times, NBCUniversal has cut ties with NBC Entertainment Chairman Paul Telegdy due to its team’s reorganization.
Telegdy’s release comes less than a week after being accused of engaging in racist, homophobic, and sexist behavior during his two years with the company.
After the claims surfaced against the chairman, the New York company announced that it would investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, Telegdy responded to the claims saying, “The nature of these allegations flies in the face of everything I stand for.”
Nearly a week later, NBCU said Telegdy was “leaving the company” without further addressing the ongoing investigation.
The mass media network introduced a new structure for its television company, shifting it from a reporting structure to a new Entertainment Business division that will contain broadcast and cable TV programming units.
In addition to the company’s reconstruction, the conglomerate is now searching for an executive to manage the new division.
The new unit will be composed of various content groups, including scripted, unscripted, late-night, and alternative.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new structure will place NBCU in a better position in the current marketplace, saving millions in cost.
