NC Couple Hid Birth Of Baby Born At College Dorm; Secretly Buried Baby

A 21-year old gave birth to her baby at a college dorm. But she later buried the baby with her child’s 19-year-old father.

High Point Police allege Olivia Billington, 21, gave birth on Sept. 4 in her room at High Point University and concealed that the baby had been born in the dorm.

Authorities were “made aware of the burial of an infant in Iredell County” on Sept. 7th.

Apparently, the parents did not seek medical treatment for the baby, PEOPLE reported.

The baby’s father, Alex Holden Best, 19, is accused of transporting “the deceased infant to his residence” in Statesville, “where he buried it on his property,” the police statement alleges.

An autopsy was not able to determine the baby’s cause of death.

Both have been charged with felony concealment of death for allegedly “secretly” burying the baby’s body.

Best was arrested but released on a $10,000 bond. Billington was arrested on Friday. Her bail was set at $50,000.
