NCAA Issues New Rules For Agents; LeBron Calls It The #RichPaulRule

The NCAA has issued a memo to agents that outlines new certification requirements in order to represent players interested in entering the NBA draft.

According to ESPN, in the memo, the NCAA outlined brand new criteria for agents, which includes a Bachelor’s degree, NBPA certification for at least three consecutive years and professional liability insurance.

However, the bachelor degree requirement is being referred to by some as the “Rich Paul Rule.” Paul, who represents some of the biggest names in the NBA including LeBron James, Draymond Green and Ben Simmons, began working with James a couple of years out of high school and never graduated from college.

Paul recently brought his Klutch Sports Group under the United Talent Agency umbrella, and under the new NCAA requirements, the star agent wouldn’t be able to represent underclasses testing the NBA waters.

LeBron took to his social media, calling out the NCAA as being “Big Mad” and “scared.”
