Ne-Yo is doubling down on his original criticism of parents allowing gender-affirming care for LGBTQIA+ children.
On Monday, the “So Sick” star shared a black-and-white video addressing the previous from his “apology” that came straight from the “publicists computer.” According to the father of seven, he is not sorry for his views on children transitioning and making decisions about their sexualities.
“My intention is never to offend anybody. However, I’m entitled to feel how I feel, the same way you are entitled to feel how you feel. I ain’t ask nobody to follow me. I ain’t ask nobody to agree with me. I was asked a question, and I answered the d**n question,” Ne-Yo firmly stated. Additionally, the songwriter made it clear that he was not phased by possibly being “canceled” for his views because he will never be comfortable with children deciding to transition at a young age, nor does he agree with parents who support it.
If you recall, during the 43-year-old’s recent VladTV interview, he slammed the use of gender-affirming care for kids. Ne-Yo questioned why parents would allow their youngsters to make a “life-changing decision” so soon. Naturally, these comments did not go over well, especially with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, who felt that his remarks were discriminatory.
He issued a statement after the interview went viral, expressing his “deepest apologies” to anyone who was offended by his words. Now, he says he wants people to hear the truth directly from him, though the fedora guru maintains he has immense love for anyone apart of the gay community.
“I love everybody. Live how you want to live. Love how you want to love, but your opinion is yours. Speak your opinion as much as you d**n well feel like it,” the superstar added.
