Nearly 10 Million Pounds of Meat Recalled Due to Listeria, Impacting Major Retailers Like Walmart, Target and Trader Joe’s

BrucePac has recalled nearly 10 million pounds of pre-cooked meat and poultry products due to potential listeria contamination, affecting some of the most popular grocery stores across the U.S. Major retailers like Walmart, Target, Publix, Aldi, Amazon, and Trader Joe’s have all been impacted by the recall, which was first announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) after routine testing uncovered the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in ready-to-eat poultry products.

The recall includes a wide variety of items such as sandwiches, wraps, salads, and frozen meals sold under well-known brands like Fresh Express, Boston Market, Rao’s, Atkins, and Great Value (Walmart). These products were shipped to grocery stores, restaurants, and food distributors nationwide, leading to widespread concern.

Consumers are advised to visit FSIS.gov for the complete list of affected items and to dispose of or return any recalled products immediately. Retailers have also been instructed to pull the items from shelves and return or discard them. While no confirmed illnesses have been reported, listeria can pose serious health risks, especially for vulnerable groups like pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of listeria infection include fever, muscle aches, headaches, and gastrointestinal issues, which can be life-threatening in severe cases.

The USDA urges anyone who may have consumed contaminated products and is experiencing symptoms to seek medical attention immediately.
